The journalist Glória Maria died this morning (2). The information was confirmed by TV Globo, the broadcaster where she had been working since 1971. According to Globo’s note, Glória was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2019 and was successfully treated for a period. However, last year the tumor metastasized to the brain and, after surgery, the treatments were no longer effective. She was hospitalized at the Copa Star Hospital, in the South Zone of Rio. According to the broadcaster, Glória was the first reporter to appear live and in color on Jornal Nacional. A reference in Brazilian journalism, she traveled the world reporting for programs such as Fantástico and Globo Repórter.
