The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) suspended the sale, manufacture, import, advertising and use of lots of male condoms Blotex Zero and Blotex Sensitive Super Aloe Vera. The decision, published in the Official Gazette, was taken after the batches failed in bursting tests after three years, which, according to the agency, makes it impossible to maintain the validity for up to five years. According to Anvisa, the company that owns the records has already started field actions to collect the lots. By means of a note, Fábrica de Artefatos de Látex Blowtex Ltda confirmed that the batches were initially produced with a shelf life of five years, but that recent laboratory tests indicated that there may be a greater risk of rupture after three years. “With any condom, if it breaks, you should take extra precautions to reduce the chance of pregnancy or sexually transmitted infections,” the company warned. And in case of doubts, the consumer should contact the Customer Service Center (SAC) by email, WhatsApp at number (41) 99201-6156 or by telephone 0800 773 6968. Opening hours are from 9 am at 12:30 pm and from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm, except holidays and weekends.
