The search for a missing man in the Baleia Verde region, in São Sebastião, resumed this Friday (3). The works had been suspended since Wednesday (2) because of the unstable ground due to the rains that continue to fall in the region. According to the state government, technicians from the Technological Research Institute (IPT) and the Fire Department found that there was an improvement in soil conditions due to climate changes, ensuring safety for the resumption of actions. The region was hit during Carnival by strong storms that caused 65 deaths, 64 in São Sebastião and one in Ubatuba. 57 people were identified and released for burial. There are 21 adult men, 17 adult women and 19 children. The state government also informed that, so far, 570 homeless people have been transferred to hotels and inns in the region. Previously, these people were in municipal schools. Priority was given to disabled and bedridden people. With the removal, it will be possible to resume classes in the city. In these places, the sheltered families will receive three meals a day. Roads This morning, only the kilometer (km) 82 stretch of the Mogi-Bertioga Highway, in Biritiba-Mirim, next to the bridge over the Sertãozinho River, remained completely banned. At km 174 on the Rio-Santos road, the road is subject to temporary interruptions for safety reasons, depending on weather conditions. The highway has 13 partial hospitalization points. At several points, the asphalt yields and, at others, rocks or logs fall onto the road. Weather forecast This morning, there was no record of rain in the north coast region. The state government bulletin indicates that, in the next few hours, the sun will predominate among few clouds, with an increase in temperature. In the afternoon, the heat combined with the humidity coming from the ocean forms thunderclouds, causing showers. Rainfall can be occasionally heavy, accompanied by lightning and wind gusts of up to 60 km/h. For this Saturday (4), there will be a predominance of sun during the morning and heat, rain showers and isolated thunderstorms, typical of summer, starting in the afternoon. The accumulated rainfall will be 15 millimeters (mm) in São Sebastião, Caraguatatuba and Ilhabela. In Ubatuba, the forecast is 10 mm.
