With the decision, the Court received a total of 550 of the 1,300 complaints filed by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR). From now on, the accused have started to respond to a criminal action and become defendants in the process. They will have to answer for the crimes of armed criminal association, violent abolition of the democratic rule of law, coup d’état, qualified damage and incitement to crime. During the virtual trial, which lasted a week, in addition to the rapporteur, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, Ministers Dias Toffoli, Edson Fachin, Gilmar Mendes, Luís Roberto Barroso, Cármen Lúcia, Luiz Fux and the president, Rosa Weber, voted to receive the complaints. . André Mendonça and Nunes Marques were the two ministers who disagreed not to accept the accusations against part of the investigated who were camped in the Army barracks, in Brasília, but who did not actively participate in the acts of vandalism in Praça dos Três Poderes. Early this Tuesday (9), the Court will begin the trial of over 250 defendants.
