Former Minister of Justice Anderson Torres left the headquarters of the Federal Police (PF), in Brasília, around 5 pm, after giving testimony in the inquiry that investigates the use of the Federal Highway Police (PRF) to supervise the transit of voters in the Northeast on the day of the second round of the 2022 presidential elections. Torres has been imprisoned since January in a battalion of the Military Police of the Federal District (PMDF) due to another investigation, which is related to the alleged failure to contain the coup acts of January 8 . He arrived at the PF building around 1:30 pm, escorted by PMDF vehicles. The hearing was authorized by the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes. The former minister was supposed to testify on the issue on April 24, but the statement was suspended due to his state of health. Torres’ lawyers have already been saying that he has been experiencing bouts of anxiety, anguish, feeling short of breath, anguish, deep sadness. He would be experiencing episodes of intense and uninterrupted crying, in addition to suicidal thoughts.
