A fire hit the garage of the Petro Ita and Cascatinha bus companies, in Petrópolis, early this Tuesday (9). No one was injured and the fire has been brought under control, according to the mayor’s office. There is still no confirmation on the number of buses destroyed. The City Hall also informed that the two companies are responsible for 40% of the urban bus lines in Petrópolis. The municipality authorized the Union of Road Transport Companies of Petrópolis (Setranspetro) to seek the necessary means to guarantee service to the population. “The City Hall also announced that it will call the Public Prosecutor’s Office, so that there is a rigorous investigation into the causes of what happened”, says the note released by the City Hall.
