The ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) finished analyzing at 11:59 pm this Monday (15), in a virtual plenary session, over 250 complaints against those involved in the anti-democratic and coup acts of January 8. This is the fourth block of complaints submitted to the collegiate, adding up to a total of 800 by this group. With the virtual trial, the STF will decide whether to open criminal proceedings against the accused. The trial began at 0h last Tuesday (9). The accusations were presented by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) in the context of Inquiries 4,921 and 4,922. If complaints are received, those accused will become defendants. The next phase is the gathering of evidence, which includes the depositions and allegations of both defense and prosecution witnesses. Subsequently, it will be up to the STF to decide whether to condemn or acquit the accused. This judgment will also be held in virtual session. The fifth block will add up to 1,050 complaints that reached the STF. The trial will take place until 23:59 on May 22 (the following Monday). Inquiries Inquiry 4922, which investigates the material executors of the acts, includes complaints regarding crimes of armed criminal association, violent abolition of the democratic rule of law, coup d’état and qualified damage. Inquiry 4921 investigates the masterminds and people who instigated the acts. The accused can become defendants for incitement to crime and criminal association.
