The Itamaraty Palace confirmed this Tuesday (20) that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will have a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni. Lula landed in Rome during the morning. Until the day before the trip, the meeting with the head of government of the European country had not been confirmed, according to Brazilian authorities. The meeting will take place on the afternoon of this Wednesday (21), but the time has not been informed. The first woman to hold the post, Meloni is the leader of the country’s first far-right government in decades. In his first appointment in the Italian capital, an hour after arriving in the city, Lula met with sociologist Domenico de Masi. Author of the book Creative Leisure, de Masi became famous for the concept according to which leisure is a factor that stimulates personal creativity. “Nice meeting and conversation with friend and professor Domenico de Masi. We met in Curitiba and also when I was in Rome before the pandemic, in 2020. We talked about the political scenario in Brazil and Europe”, wrote the president in a post on social media. De Masi was one of the international personalities who visited Lula during the period in which the former president was imprisoned in Curitiba, between 2018 and 2019, as part of Operation Lava Jato.
