The former Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Sepúlveda Pertence, died this Sunday (2) at the Hospital Sírio Libanês, in Brasília, where he had been hospitalized for more than a week. He was 85 years old. The cause of death was not revealed. The wake will be held this Monday (3), from 10 am, at the STF, and the burial is scheduled for 4:30 pm, in the Pioneers Wing of Campo da Esperança, in the federal capital. Mineiro, born in 1937 in the city of Sabará, was appointed Minister of the Supreme Court by President José Sarney in 1989, a position he held until 2007. STF Minister Alexandre de Moraes lamented the loss on social networks. Brazil lost a great and tireless defender of Democracy with the death of Sepulveda Pertence. A notable lawyer, jurist and Minister of the Federal Supreme Court, he will leave an eternal legacy of friendship, seriousness and justice.
