Today (9) ends the deadline for candidates pre-selected by the Student Financing Fund (Fies) to complete the registration data. The deadline applies to candidates whose enrollment was postponed to the 1st semester of 2023 – in this case, those effective in the semester after which the student was pre-selected for a vacancy in the program, according to the Ministry of Education. Completion of registration data must be done exclusively via the internet, on the Fies page, until 11:59 pm today. Fies is a program that makes it possible for students to finance tuition fees at non-free higher education institutions. The program is divided into different modalities, allowing zero interest to those who need it most, and a scale of financing that varies according to the candidate’s family income. Access to courses is based on the grade obtained in the National High School Examination (Enem). MEC warns that, after completing the application, students should be aware of some deadlines stipulated for the next stages of the program. “Within five days, counting from the day following the completion of the registration, the candidate must validate the information already declared directly at the educational institution for which he was pre-selected”, explained, in a note, the ministry. In addition, the note adds, “in up to 10 days, counting from the third business day following the date of validation of the registration by the Permanent Commission for Supervision and Monitoring (CPSA), the student must go to the bank to deliver the required documentation for hiring and, once approval has been obtained, formalizing the financing”. MEC points out that every educational institution that participates in Fies has a CPSA, and that this sector is responsible for dealing with matters related to financing, as well as providing information on the procedures for delivering the required documentation.
